Deniece Pearson is a Brit award winner, Grammy nominee and lead singer with iconic pop group, FIVE STAR.

 

While in the group, Deniece had an unprecedented chart run of over 20 top thirty UK singles including System Addict, The Slightest Touch and the anthem Rain Or Shine. FIVE STAR were also the youngest British group to have a number 1 album and the first group to achieve seven consecutive hit singles from one album in the UK.

After taking a career break to raise her two children, Deniece joined the Michael Jackson musical ‘Thriller Live’ in 2009 as part of its original West End cast garnering great reviews for her outstanding performance.

 

And in September 2011, Deniece starred in another West End musical, ‘Respect La Diva’ where she wowed audiences with her sensational cover of Beyonce’s Listen and a medley of Whitney Houston hits.

 

After appearing on BBC1’s The Voice in 2012 Deniece got a dream gig – supporting The Jacksons on their UK tour!

 

In September 2013 Deniece released a song she penned called Rafiki Yangu (Swahili for ‘My Friend’), as a tribute to Nelson Mandela and Africa’s fight for peace and posterity, in aid of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

 

Deniece’s debut solo album, Imprint was released in the Summer 2014, receiving glowing reviews and earning a 16-date UK tour supporting Billy Ocean.

At the end of 2015 Deniece was invited to perform with DJ and Producer, Sigala. Together they performed his number one hit, Easy Love, on the Top Of The Pops New Years Day BBC1 special. The last time Deniece had been on the show was almost 30-years ago!

In 2018 Deniece, along with Demon Music Group, compiled the top selling box set, Luxury – the Definitive Five Star Anthology. Denise was also a lead singer in the show ‘Disco Diva’s’ which played a sell-out show at the Sydney Opera House, Australia.

 

In 2020 Deniece released You Raise Me Up, a charity single as a tribute to NHS Health and Social Care workers who lost their lives due to Covid-19.

In August 2023, Deniece released a new EP, Forever Young, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the sibling group’s first-ever release, 1983’s Problematic.  The title track is an uplifting reggae infused pop-bop perfect for the sunshine. Also on the EP are 7th Heaven Club remixes of System Addict and Rain Or Shine.

It’s the first taste of new material from the hitmaker, ahead of the release of her latest solo album, Free-Queen-See, expected in spring/summer of 2024. 

​

Deniece is continuing to perform at festivals and shows around the world as a solo artist and as the original voice of FIVE STAR.
